Our advertised rates describe starting labour, in Canadian dollars. They are not a retail material price or a complete renovation package. The rate for floating engineered hardwood should not be treated as the price for a bonded wood installation. Compare quotes only after their methods and included work are clear.
Build the scope before comparing totals.
Make a room list and note the floor you have now. Add stairs, baseboards, doorways and any surfaces you intend to keep. These details help identify the work to include in a written quote.

- Subfloor condition, leveling and repairs

An 800 sq ft vinyl installation at our current $1.50 starting rate produces a $1,200.00 installation-labour subtotal. It does not include flooring materials, preparation, underlayment or tax. The calculator can add quantities for standard removal, trim and stair labour without guessing a leveling quantity.
Inspect what cannot be priced from a floor plan.
The amount of leveling cannot be established from area alone. A bonded floor may need different preparation from a floating one. Some conditions only become visible after removal; agree how additional work will be assessed and approved before the project starts.
Ask for a useful written quote.
A useful quote identifies quantities, installation method, preparation allowances, materials supplied by each party and finishing items. Ask about any minimum charge and access costs. The final agreement should explain the scope, taxes and timing instead of relying on a headline rate.
